Mercedes-AMG M156 Forged Internals — Rods & Pistons Kit

The Mercedes-AMG M156 6.2L naturally aspirated V8 is one of the strongest factory AMG engines ever built — the stock bottom end handles 750–800HP before internals become the limiting factor. However, when building beyond that for supercharger or turbo conversions, forged rods and pistons are non-negotiable. Our M156 forged internals kit replaces the stock cast components with race-grade 4340 steel rods and forged pistons rated for 1,500HP and beyond.

Why Upgrade M156 Internals?

The stock M156 bottom end uses cast hypereutectic pistons (forged on 2010+ P31/507 package cars) and strong connecting rods. While excellent for street use, sustained high-boost operation on supercharger or turbo builds generates heat cycles that fatigue cast components over time. Forged internals absorb shock loads, handle extreme cylinder pressures, and run cooler under sustained wide-open throttle. For any M156 build targeting 800HP+, forged internals are the foundation everything else is built on.
