McLaren MP4-12C — M838T 3.8T V8 Performance Parts & ECU Tuning

The McLaren MP4-12C was the car that launched McLaren Automotive as a road car manufacturer in 2011. Powered by the M838T 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 developed in partnership with Ricardo, the 12C produces 592 HP in standard specification — a figure that belies the engine's enormous tuning headroom. The M838T architecture went on to serve the 650S, 570S, and 675LT, but the 12C remains the most accessible entry point to the McLaren twin-turbo V8 platform.

YPG Motorsport offers Stage 1 through Stage 3 bench ECU calibrations for the MP4-12C. Stage 1 targets 650–680 WHP with revised boost pressure and fuelling on stock hardware. Stage 2 with catless downpipes pushes to 720+ WHP. Stage 3 with upgraded turbochargers and supporting hardware reaches 850+ WHP. All calibrations are developed in-house and delivered via YPG Bench mail-in service — 2–4 business day turnaround from ECU receipt.

The parts catalogue includes Capristo and Fabspeed valve-controlled exhaust systems, catless downpipes in 304 stainless steel, carbon fibre aerodynamic upgrades, and lightweight forged wheels. The 12C’s carbon fibre MonoCell chassis and mid-engine layout make it one of the lightest platforms in its power class — additional horsepower translates directly to performance gains without the mass penalty found in heavier GT cars.

All parts ship worldwide via FedEx International Priority. See the full McLaren catalogue for 570S, 650S, and 720S parts.
