The Mercedes-AMG M177 and M178 4.0L twin-turbo V8 is one of the most capable engine platforms ever produced. From the C63 to the AMG GT Black Series, these hand-built engines deliver extraordinary power from the factory — and significantly more with proper calibration. Stage 1 ECU tuning typically adds +70 to +100 HP on M177/M178 platforms, with Stage 2 pushing into 650–700+ HP territory.
YPG has deep experience with the entire AMG engine lineup — M177, M178, M139 (A45/CLA45), M256 (inline-six), and the older M157/M278 V8s. Every calibration is platform-specific and fuel-grade-specific, with TCU calibration available for the AMG Speedshift MCT, ZF 8HP, and DCT transmissions.
