The Maserati Levante GTS is powered by a Ferrari-derived F154 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 producing 550 HP and 538 lb-ft from the factory. Shared with the Maserati Quattroporte GTS and derived from the Ferrari 488's architecture, the F154 responds exceptionally well to exhaust modifications — both for sound and power.
The factory exhaust on the Levante GTS is notoriously restrictive. Replacing the catalytic converters with catless downpipes alone frees 30–50 HP at the wheels and transforms the exhaust note from muted to aggressive. Paired with a valvetronic exhaust system, the Levante GTS delivers one of the best V8 exhaust notes of any performance SUV — deep, resonant, and distinctly Italian at full throttle, with a quiet mode for daily driving.
