Mercedes-AMG M177 Stage 3 Turbo Upgrade | C63 E63 GLC63 | YPG Motorsport
Stage 3 Turbo Upgrade
The proven path to 900-1,100WHP on the M177 platform. Bolt-on billet turbos, full supporting mods, custom ECU calibration - engineered by the team that built the world's quickest W205 C63.
Know Your Stage
Every M177 build follows a progression. Stage 3 is the sweet spot - serious power with reliable daily drivability when built correctly.
High-flow air filters
Stock turbos
Downpipes optional
Catless downpipes
Cold air intake
Upgraded charge piping
Forged internals (rods/pistons)
Custom ECU calibration
Catless downpipes + intake
E85 or methanol recommended
Built long block
Race fuel (E85/Meth)
Standalone or flash ECU
Full exhaust, intercooler
The factory M177 connecting rods are rated to approximately 700HP under sustained boost. Running Stage 3 turbos on stock internals risks catastrophic rod failure under high load. Every YPG Stage 3 build includes forged rods and pistons. This is not optional - it is the difference between a reliable build and an expensive rebuild.
Stage 3 Build Requirements
A correct Stage 3 build requires every item below. Skipping any of these creates a weak link that will fail at high boost.

Select your chassis below. The E63 W213 uses a twin-scroll turbo architecture requiring a different kit — priced accordingly. Everything ships worldwide, free.
The C63 W205 and GLC63 X253 share the same single-scroll M177 turbo setup. The E63 W213 uses a twin-scroll divided housing — a different turbine wheel geometry and bearing cartridge are required. These are not interchangeable kits.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before ordering a Stage 3 M177 build.
What horsepower does M177 Stage 3 produce?
A correctly built M177 Stage 3 turbo upgrade produces 900-1,100 wheel horsepower depending on fuel type, supporting modifications, and calibration. On E85 with a full supporting mod list, numbers above 1,000WHP are achievable. On pump 98-octane fuel, expect 850-950WHP with a proper custom calibration.
Is the E63 W213 Stage 3 kit the same as the C63?
No. The W213 E63 uses twin-scroll turbochargers with a divided turbine housing. The Stage 3 kit for the E63 requires a different turbine wheel geometry and upgraded bearing cartridge matched to the twin-scroll architecture. The C63 W205 and GLC63 X253 use single-scroll turbos — these kits are not interchangeable. The E63 kit is priced at $6,799 vs $5,799 for C63/GLC63.
Do I need forged internals for Stage 3?
Yes - unconditionally. The factory M177 connecting rods are the primary failure point on upgraded turbo builds. They are rated to approximately 700HP under sustained high-boost load. Stage 3 turbos run well above that threshold. YPG does not build Stage 3 setups without forged internals.
What vehicles does the M177 Stage 3 kit fit?
The M177 4.0L twin-turbo V8 is fitted in the C63/C63S W205, E63/E63S W213, GLC63/S X253, GLE63/S V167, GLS63 X167, G63 W463A, and AMG GT/GTS C190. All variants are supported. Confirm your model year and ECU version when ordering.
How is the ECU tuned for Stage 3?
YPG uses our remote ECU programming service - YPG Flash. You receive a branded OBD device shipped to your door, connect it via the YPG mobile app, and your current calibration is read and transmitted to our engineering team. A custom map is returned through the app the same day, written specifically for your turbo spec, fuel type, and climate. No workshop visit, no ECU removal.
Do you ship Stage 3 parts to Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar?
Yes. YPG Motorsport ships worldwide via FedEx International Priority. GCC delivery is 1-2 business days to Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, and 2 business days to UAE. All orders include free worldwide shipping.
What fuel is recommended for Stage 3?
E85 or a methanol injection system is strongly recommended for Stage 3 builds. High-octane fuels allow more ignition timing advance and higher boost pressure - the two variables that convert hardware potential into real wheel horsepower. Pump 98-octane builds are possible but will leave significant power on the table compared to E85.
Can I daily drive an M177 Stage 3 build?
Yes, with a correctly built setup. A full forged short block, well-calibrated ECU tune, and properly maintained fuel system make Stage 3 M177 builds reliable daily drivers. Many YPG customers run these builds on GCC roads year-round.
