Toyota GR Supra A90 Stage 1 vs Stage 2 ECU Tune — B58 3.0T I6 Power Comparison
Toyota GR Supra A90 — Stage 1 vs Stage 2 ECU Tune
The Toyota GR Supra A90/A91 is powered by BMW's B58 3.0-litre single-turbo inline-six — one of the most tuneable engines in modern production. With 382 HP stock (2020+ 3.0), the B58 is massively understated from the factory and responds to ECU tuning with dramatic gains.
Power Comparison — B58 3.0T I6
| Specification | Stock | Stage 1 | Stage 2 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Peak Horsepower | 382 HP | ~450 HP | ~520 HP |
| Peak Torque | 500 Nm | ~600 Nm | ~680 Nm |
| Hardware Required | — | None — ECU only | Downpipe + charge pipe + intercooler |
| 0-100 km/h (est.) | 4.1s | ~3.5s | ~3.1s |
Stage 1 — 450 HP, Software Only
The B58 is one of the most conservative factory calibrations in its segment — BMW detuned it significantly for the Supra platform. A Stage 1 tune increases boost pressure, optimizes ignition timing, and adjusts fuelling for approximately 70 HP over stock. The ZF 8-speed automatic translates the additional torque into brutal mid-range pull. The Supra's relatively light weight (1,495 kg) means every HP counts.
Stage 2 — 520 HP with Downpipe
Stage 2 adds a catless downpipe, upgraded charge pipe, and front-mount intercooler. At ~520 HP, the Supra becomes a genuine supercar killer — faster to 100 km/h than a stock Porsche 911 Turbo S while weighing 500 kg less. The B58's closed-deck block handles the power with zero reliability concerns on stock internals.
