Stage 1 — 750 HP, No Hardware
The S63's factory turbos have massive headroom. A Stage 1 tune resets boost targets, ignition timing, and fuel delivery to extract approximately 125 HP over stock — reaching ~750 HP with zero hardware modifications. The M5's M xDrive system puts that power down efficiently, making Stage 1 one of the most cost-effective performance upgrades in the BMW lineup. With AWD traction, the Stage 1 F90 is a genuine roll-race weapon.
Stage 2 — 850 HP with Exhaust
Stage 2 adds catless downpipes, a de-catted midpipe, and upgraded intake. The reduced backpressure lets the S63's turbos operate closer to their efficiency peak, and the Stage 2 ECU calibration takes full advantage — pushing approximately 850 HP and 1,000+ Nm. At this level, the F90 M5 runs mid-to-low 10-second quarter-mile times from the factory chassis.
