McLaren Stage 2 — ECU Tunes & Downpipes
Stage 2 ECU calibrations and the catless downpipes required to run them — built specifically for the McLaren M838T and M840T twin-turbo V8 platforms. A Stage 2 calibration is not a generic map applied to every car: YPG Motorsport matches each tune to your specific hardware configuration, including downpipe type, intake status, and exhaust system. The downpipe is a mandatory prerequisite for Stage 2 — without it, the reduced backpressure targets in the calibration cannot be safely achieved.
On the 570S / 570GT (M838T 3.8L), Stage 2 with catless downpipes pushes output to 620–680 WHP depending on fuel octane and supporting hardware. On the 720S (M840T 4.0L), Stage 2 delivers 780+ WHP with revised boost, fuel, and torque management maps. The 650S (M838T 3.8L) responds to Stage 2 with 720+ WHP — approaching factory 675LT power levels from a more accessible starting point.
Downpipes are constructed from 304 stainless steel with TIG-welded joints and CNC-machined flanges. Available in catless configuration for maximum flow and power, or 200-cell GESI catted for regions requiring catalytic converters. All downpipes ship with gaskets and OEM-spec hardware for bolt-on installation.
ECU calibrations are delivered via YPG Bench — a mail-in service where your McLaren ECU is shipped to YPG Motorsport, unlocked (if applicable), calibrated on the bench, and returned via FedEx International Priority.
