Lamborghini Aventador Catless Downpipes — LP700, SV & SVJ | Sound, Power & Exhaust Guide (2026)
The Aventador V12: Why Exhaust Matters More Than Power Numbers
The Lamborghini Aventador's 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 is one of the last engines of its kind. It doesn't have turbochargers to boost. It doesn't have an electric hybrid system inflating its output. It makes every one of its 700–770 HP through displacement, compression, and an 8,500 RPM redline. And the way it sounds doing it is the entire point.
On a naturally aspirated engine, exhaust modifications don't add transformative horsepower the way they do on turbocharged platforms. Catless downpipes on the Aventador add approximately 20–35 HP — meaningful but not life-changing in absolute terms. What changes completely is the sound, the throttle response, and the character of the driving experience. The factory Aventador is already loud, but it's filtered through catalytic converters that muffle the V12's natural frequency. Remove them and the engine speaks in its true voice.
Aventador LP700 / LP720 / LP750 SV Catless Downpipes
The YPG Aventador LP700/LP720/LP750 SV catless downpipes are constructed from SS304 stainless steel and designed as a direct bolt-on replacement for the factory catalytic converters. They fit all Aventador variants from 2011 onwards except the SVJ, which uses a different exhaust layout.
What Changes
- Sound: The exhaust note becomes significantly louder and more aggressive. Cold starts are sharper. High-RPM pulls develop the screaming V12 top-end that the catalytic converters suppress. Overrun crackles and pops become more pronounced.
- Throttle response: Reduced exhaust backpressure means the engine responds more immediately to throttle input. The difference is most noticeable in the 4,000–6,000 RPM range where the V12 transitions from its low-end rumble to its high-RPM wail.
- Power: +20–35 HP at the wheels, concentrated in the upper RPM range where the naturally aspirated V12 breathes most freely.
Fitment
Fits Aventador LP700-4, LP720-4 50° Anniversario, and LP750-4 Superveloce. All years from 2011 onwards. Does NOT fit the SVJ — see below.
Aventador SVJ Catless Downpipes
The YPG Aventador SVJ catless downpipes are purpose-built for the SVJ's revised exhaust layout. The SVJ uses a different catalytic converter configuration and exhaust routing compared to the standard Aventador, requiring SVJ-specific downpipes for proper fitment.
The SVJ starts at 770 HP — the most powerful naturally aspirated Aventador variant. With catless downpipes, the additional exhaust flow helps the engine breathe slightly better at the very top of its RPM range, where every fraction of efficiency matters on a naturally aspirated engine.
SVJ Sound
The SVJ already has a more aggressive factory exhaust than the standard Aventador. Catless downpipes push it further — the sound becomes raw, unfiltered, and genuinely race-car-like at high RPM. The SVJ's higher redline and revised intake system make the most of the improved exhaust flow.
Pairing Downpipes with ECU Tuning
For maximum gains on the Aventador platform, downpipes should be paired with an ECU tune. YPG offers Aventador ECU tuning via YPG Bench — the mail-in ECU tuning service for exotic platforms. The Aventador's ECU is removed, calibrated on the bench, and returned. Read our full Aventador ECU Tuning Guide for GCC Owners for complete details on the tuning process and power gains.
Downpipes + ECU tune combined:
- LP700-4: approximately 730–750 HP (stock 700 HP)
- LP750-4 SV: approximately 790–810 HP (stock 750 HP)
- SVJ: approximately 800–820 HP (stock 770 HP)

Construction & Materials
Both the LP700-series and SVJ downpipes are constructed from SS304 stainless steel. SS304 offers excellent corrosion resistance, heat tolerance, and longevity — critical for a component that operates at extreme exhaust temperatures in GCC ambient conditions. The welds are TIG-welded for strength and a clean appearance.
Each set is designed for a direct bolt-on installation using factory mounting points. No cutting, welding, or fabrication required. Professional installation is recommended due to the Aventador's mid-engine layout and limited underbody access.
GCC-Specific Considerations
Emissions: GCC-delivered Aventadors do not include OPF/GPF. Catless downpipe installation is straightforward with no additional coding or filter deletes required.
Sound regulations: Kuwait, UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar do not have the strict exhaust sound regulations found in European cities. Catless downpipes are run by Aventador owners across the GCC without issue.
Heat: SS304 stainless steel handles the extreme under-car temperatures generated by the Aventador's V12 and GCC ambient heat without material degradation.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much HP do Aventador catless downpipes add?
Approximately 20–35 HP standalone. Paired with an ECU tune, combined gains are 50–80 HP over stock depending on the variant.
What do they sound like?
Significantly louder and more aggressive. The V12's natural high-RPM scream comes through unfiltered. Cold starts are sharper. Overrun crackles intensify.
Do the LP700 downpipes fit the SVJ?
No. The LP700/LP720/LP750 SV downpipes and the SVJ downpipes are different fitments. YPG carries both.
Will they trigger a check engine light?
GCC-spec cars without OPF typically do not. An ECU tune is recommended for optimal fueling and to eliminate any post-cat sensor faults.
Can I pair them with an ECU tune?
Yes. YPG offers Aventador ECU tuning via YPG Bench — our mail-in service for exotic ECUs. Downpipes plus a tune is the recommended Stage 2 combination.
