Best Exhaust Upgrades for Performance Cars in the GCC — Kuwait, UAE & Saudi Arabia
Best Exhaust Upgrades for Supercars in Kuwait and UAE
GCC Performance Guide — by YPG Motorsport
An exhaust upgrade is the highest-impact single modification for a turbocharged supercar — more than intake, more than intercooler, and on most platforms, the prerequisite for a Stage 2 ECU tune. For GCC owners in Kuwait and the UAE, exhaust work also changes the character of the car in ways that matter day-to-day: sound, throttle response, and the psychological satisfaction of a proper note on the highway.
This guide covers the three main exhaust upgrade types, which platforms benefit most, and how to order from YPG Motorsport for delivery to Kuwait or UAE.
The Three Upgrade Types
Catless Downpipes — Replace the factory catalytic converters on the turbos. Largest flow improvement and biggest power gain (15–40HP depending on platform). Required for Stage 2 ECU tunes on turbocharged cars. Sound change is significant — adds crackle and increases overall volume. Best choice for track-oriented builds.
Cat-Back Exhaust — Replaces everything from the catalytic converter back. Sound improvement without removing the cats. Smaller power gain than catless downpipes but retains emissions compliance. Good choice for road cars where the Stage 2 ECU route isn't planned.
Valve Exhaust Systems — Electronically controlled bypass valves that allow switching between quiet and loud modes. Particularly popular in the GCC where you may want loud on the highway but quiet in residential areas. Can be added to either catless or cat-back setups.
By Platform
Ferrari 488 / SF90 — Capristo and Tubi Style are the benchmark options. Catless downpipes on the 488 add 25–30HP and transform the exhaust note. Required for Stage 2 ECU tune. View Ferrari exhaust options →
Lamborghini Aventador / Huracan — Capristo and Akrapovič are the top tier options. The naturally aspirated V10/V12 benefits from cat-back systems as much as downpipes. Sound gain is dramatic. View Lamborghini exhaust options →
Mercedes-AMG GT / G63 / C63 — The M177/M178 engine responds strongly to catless downpipes. Required for Stage 2. Valve exhaust systems are popular on the G63 for sound management. View AMG exhaust options →
McLaren 720S / 570S — Milltek and Capristo are well-proven on the M840T. Catless downpipes recommended for Stage 2 ECU tune. View McLaren exhaust options →
Ordering for Kuwait or UAE
YPG Motorsport ships all performance exhaust parts internationally via FedEx International Priority. Kuwait and UAE customers typically receive parts in 3–5 business days from order. We handle import documentation — you collect from FedEx with no complex customs process.
If you're combining an exhaust upgrade with an ECU tune (Stage 2), contact us first — we'll coordinate the order so both arrive and are installed together, eliminating a second ECU pull.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do catless downpipes require a tune?
They don't require a tune to run, but without a matching ECU recalibration, catless downpipes will cause check engine lights and the ECU will compensate in ways that reduce your power gain. Always pair catless downpipes with a Stage 2 ECU tune.
Can you install in Kuwait?
We can recommend trusted Kuwait-based workshops for installation. Contact us and we'll connect you with an installer familiar with your specific car.
How loud are catless downpipes?
Significantly louder than stock — you will notice it every time you start the car. On a Ferrari or Lamborghini this is typically desirable. If noise management matters, consider a cat-back upgrade instead, or a valve exhaust system that lets you toggle between modes.
