M156 Short Block Build — Forged 6.2L V8 Bottom End for C63, SLS & CLK63 AMG
If your M156 bottom end is the weak link — spun bearing, cracked piston, worn cylinders — our M156 short block build gives you a fully forged, race-spec bottom end ready for your heads and accessories. Built in-house at YPG Motorsport in Kuwait, every short block is blueprinted, balanced, and assembled to proven clearances that handle serious power.
What Is an M156 Short Block?
A short block is the foundation of your engine: the block itself, crankshaft, connecting rods, pistons, bearings, and all internal seals. It does not include cylinder heads, intake, exhaust manifolds, or accessories. You supply and install your own heads — either your originals or a set of our M156 CNC-ported heads — and bolt everything together.
This is the right choice when your heads are still in good condition but your bottom end needs a full rebuild with forged components.

When to Choose a Short Block Over a Crate Engine
A short block makes sense when your cylinder heads are healthy and you want to save cost on the full long block. You get the same forged rotating assembly and race-spec bottom end that goes into our M156 crate engine, but you reuse your existing heads. If your heads need work too, consider pairing this short block with our M156 CNC-ported heads — or just order the complete crate engine.

Forged Internals — Built for Boost
Every M156 short block leaves our workshop with forged pistons, forged H-beam connecting rods, and a forged billet crankshaft. The rotating assembly is balanced as a unit on our balancing equipment. Bearing clearances are set to our race program specs — no production-line tolerances, no shortcuts.
This bottom end is designed to survive 1,500 HP+ with forced induction. Whether you are adding a supercharger, turbo kit, or running high-compression naturally aspirated, the short block will not be your limit.
Build Process
The M156 block is fully inspected — bore roundness, deck height, main bearing bore alignment. Cylinders are honed to our spec and sleeved where necessary. The crankshaft is checked for straightness and polished. Every component is assembled with fresh fasteners, torqued to spec, and documented.
Build time is typically 7–21 days. We ship via FedEx or DHL directly to your door, worldwide.
