Eventuri BMW Intake Guide: M2, M3, M4, M5 & More — S58, S55, B58 Carbon Fibre Systems | 2026

The intake system is one of the first bottlenecks on any turbocharged BMW M engine. Factory airboxes are engineered for NVH and cost — not peak airflow. Eventuri's carbon fibre intake systems are designed from the ground up to solve that problem, replacing restrictive OEM ducting with aerospace-grade carbon housings, sealed airbox designs, and engineered carbon scoops that force cold, dense air directly into the turbocharger inlets. For the S58, S55, B58, and S63 engine families, Eventuri intakes are the benchmark upgrade — and YPG Motorsport is an authorized Eventuri dealer shipping worldwide.

This guide covers every Eventuri BMW application currently available, what each system includes, the gains you can expect, and how to pair an intake upgrade with ECU tuning for maximum results.

Eventuri BMW G8X M2, M3 & M4 — S58 Carbon Fibre Intake

The BMW G8X platform — G80 M3, G82 M4, and G87 M2 — runs the S58 twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-six, one of BMW's most capable engines out of the box. Eventuri's S58 intake system is purpose-built for this engine and represents a complete replacement of the factory airbox assembly.

Available Versions

Eventuri offers the G8X S58 intake in multiple configurations:

  • Black Carbon — Full carbon fibre construction with a matte or gloss finish
  • Kevlar (Yellow Carbon) — Carbon-kevlar weave for a distinctive yellow-accented look with identical performance
  • V2 Design — Eventuri's updated second-generation system featuring redesigned carbon scoops for improved airflow volume and velocity into the turbos

What's Included

Each Eventuri G8X S58 kit includes the carbon fibre intake housing, integrated carbon scoops, high-flow filter elements, all mounting hardware, and detailed installation instructions. The system is a direct bolt-on replacement — no cutting, drilling, or modification to the engine bay is required.

Power Gains

On a stock-tune G8X M3 or M4, the Eventuri S58 intake typically delivers 10–20 whp with noticeably improved throttle response and faster turbo spool. The sealed housing design prevents hot engine-bay air from contaminating the intake charge, which is particularly important during spirited driving or track use where heat soak degrades performance.

When paired with a Stage 1 ECU calibration, the S58 responds dramatically — the tune can leverage the increased airflow for gains well beyond what either modification achieves alone.

Eventuri BMW F8X M3, M4 & M2 Competition — S55 Carbon Fibre Intake

The S55 twin-turbocharged inline-six powered the previous generation of BMW's core M cars: the F80 M3, F82 M4, F83 M4 Convertible, and the F87 M2 Competition. Despite being superseded by the S58, the S55 remains one of the most tuned BMW engines in the world, and Eventuri's intake system for this platform is one of the most proven upgrades available.

System Design

The Eventuri S55 intake replaces the entire factory airbox with a fully sealed carbon fibre housing. Integrated carbon scoops channel air from the kidney grilles directly into the intake, bypassing the engine bay's ambient heat. The filter elements sit inside the sealed housing, ensuring that every gram of air entering the turbos is as cool and dense as possible.

Sound & Performance

Beyond the power gains — typically 10–18 whp on stock tune — the Eventuri S55 intake transforms the car's character. The induction sound under load becomes more pronounced and aggressive, with a deeper intake note that the factory airbox completely muffles. Throttle response sharpens noticeably, and turbo spool is faster across the rev range.

The S55 Eventuri intake is compatible with all F80 M3, F82/F83 M4, and F87 M2 Competition models regardless of production year or LCI status.

Eventuri BMW M5 & M6 — S63 Carbon Fibre Intake

BMW's S63TU twin-turbocharged 4.4-litre V8 — found in the F10 M5 and F12/F13 M6 — is a different animal entirely. The V8 configuration means dual intake tracts, and Eventuri's system addresses both sides with a complete carbon fibre solution.

What the Kit Covers

The Eventuri S63 intake includes carbon scoops and intake housings for both banks of the V8, replacing the factory ducting with a system designed to maximise cold air delivery to each turbocharger. The sealed design is critical on the S63, where the hot-vee turbo placement means engine bay temperatures are significantly higher than on inline-six platforms.

Gains on the S63

The S63TU responds well to intake improvements because the factory system is conservative by design. Owners report improved throttle mapping feel, faster boost build, and measurable gains on the dyno — particularly in the mid-range where the turbos are transitioning to full boost. The V8 induction sound through the Eventuri carbon housings is a significant upgrade over the near-silent factory intake.

Eventuri BMW M340i, M240i & 340i — B58 Carbon Fibre Intake

The B58 single-turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-six is BMW's workhorse performance engine, powering everything from the M340i and M240i to the 340i, 440i, and Z4 M40i. While it doesn't carry the M badge (outside the M Performance models), the B58 is one of the most responsive engines to bolt-on modifications — and the Eventuri B58 intake is one of the most impactful single upgrades you can make.

Design & Construction

The Eventuri B58 intake features a fully sealed carbon fibre airbox with a dedicated carbon scoop that channels air from the front of the engine bay directly to the filter element. This eliminates the factory intake's reliance on passive airflow and ensures consistent cold air delivery regardless of driving conditions or ambient temperature.

Real-World Impact

The B58 Eventuri intake is not a marginal upgrade. Owners consistently report 8–15 whp gains, noticeably improved turbo response (particularly from 2,500–4,500 RPM where the B58 does most of its work), and a more aggressive intake sound that gives the M340i a character the factory intake completely suppresses. For owners who want one bolt-on that transforms the driving experience, the Eventuri B58 intake is the starting point.

The same system fits the G20 340i, G22 440i, G29 Z4 M40i, and G42 M240i where they share the B58 engine.

Eventuri BMW M140i & M240i (F-Series) — B58 Carbon Intake

The F20 M140i and F22 M240i run the B58 in a lighter, more compact chassis — and they respond to intake upgrades accordingly. The Eventuri B58 intake for these platforms uses the same sealed carbon airbox design, optimised for the F-series engine bay layout.

The M140i in particular has a cult following among BMW enthusiasts for its rear-wheel-drive (or xDrive), straight-six formula in a compact body. The Eventuri intake paired with a B58 ECU tune unlocks performance that punches well above the car's price point.

Eventuri BMW X3M & X4M — S58 Carbon Fibre Intake

The F97 X3M and F98 X4M use the same S58 twin-turbo inline-six as the G8X M3 and M4. Eventuri's S58 intake system fits these SUV M variants, delivering the same cold air benefits in a chassis that arguably needs them more — the taller engine bay and reduced front-end airflow of an SUV body make heat soak a more significant factor during aggressive driving.

For X3M and X4M owners who track their cars or drive in hot climates, the Eventuri intake is a functional upgrade that maintains consistent power delivery where the factory intake falls off. The same black carbon, kevlar, and V2 options available for the G8X sedans and coupes apply to the X3M and X4M.

Pairing Eventuri Intakes with ECU Tuning

An Eventuri intake on its own delivers measurable gains. But the real potential is unlocked when you pair the intake with a proper ECU calibration.

Why the Combination Works

Factory ECU maps are calibrated around the restrictions of the OEM intake system. When you install an Eventuri intake and increase airflow capacity, the stock ECU can only take partial advantage of the improvement — it's still running conservative fuel, ignition, and boost maps designed for the restrictive factory airbox.

A Stage 1 or Stage 2 ECU tune recalibrates those maps to exploit the increased airflow. The result is compound gains:

  • S58 (G8X M2/M3/M4): Eventuri intake + Stage 1 tune can deliver 50–80+ whp over stock, depending on fuel quality and supporting modifications
  • S55 (F8X M3/M4/M2 Comp): The S55 is extremely tune-responsive — intake + tune combinations regularly produce 80–100+ whp gains over stock
  • B58 (M340i/M240i): Stage 1 tune + Eventuri intake routinely pushes the B58 past 400 whp, transforming the car's performance envelope
  • S63 (M5/M6): The twin-turbo V8 with improved airflow and recalibrated boost maps delivers a significant mid-range torque increase that makes the car feel like a different vehicle

YPG Motorsport offers ECU calibration services for all of these platforms, performed remotely or in-house. When you purchase an Eventuri intake and a tune together, we ensure the calibration is matched to your exact hardware configuration.
