The W205 uses the M177 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 in its original single-scroll configuration. From factory, the C63 produces 469 HP and the C63 S produces 503 HP. Both respond exceptionally well to ECU calibration because Mercedes-AMG leaves significant headroom in boost pressure, ignition timing, and torque limiters for emissions compliance and warranty protection.

Stage 1 — ECU Calibration Only

Stage 1 is a pure ECU recalibration — no physical modifications. YPG recalibrates boost pressure targets, ignition timing curves, fuel injection duration, torque limiter thresholds, and throttle response mapping. The result is a car that feels fundamentally different from factory — mid-range torque fills in, throttle response sharpens, and the power curve extends further into the rev range.

Every YPG C63 tune includes multiple burble map profiles at no extra cost — street, spirited, and aggressive overrun characters. This is a YPG signature feature included with every calibration.

Stage 2 — ECU Calibration + Downpipes

Stage 2 adds catless or high-flow catted downpipes to remove the exhaust restriction ahead of the turbochargers. This allows higher boost pressure without pushing exhaust gas temperatures into unsafe territory. The ECU calibration is rewritten to take advantage of the improved exhaust flow — higher sustained boost, more aggressive timing in the mid-range, and extended torque delivery through the upper rev range.

At Stage 2, the C63 S becomes a genuinely fast car. Sub-3.5-second 0–100 km/h times are typical, and the car pulls hard through the entire rev range with no fade at the top end.

Stage 3 — Hybrid Turbo Upgrade

Stage 3 replaces the factory turbochargers with hybrid units — upgraded compressor wheels and turbine wheels inside the factory housings, or slightly larger housings that bolt to the stock manifold. This is where the C63 enters serious performance territory.

At 750+ HP, the stock connecting rods become the weakest link under sustained high-boost operation. YPG strongly recommends M177 forged internals at this stage. Our forged rod and piston kit ($6,599.99) is the exact specification used in the world record car.

The intercooler system also needs upgrading at Stage 3. The factory air-to-water system is adequate for Stage 2 but heat-soaks under sustained high-boost driving at Stage 3 power levels, particularly in GCC ambient temperatures.

Stage 4 — Full Build (828+ WHP)

Stage 4 is a complete engine build. Full-billet turbochargers, forged connecting rods and pistons, ported cylinder heads, upgraded valve springs, high-flow fuel injectors, uprated fuel pumps, and a built 7-speed MCT transmission. This is the specification that ran 9.97 seconds in the quarter mile at 828 WHP.

At this level, every component matters. The calibration is custom — developed on the dyno and refined at the drag strip. YPG Stage 4 builds are quoted individually because every combination of turbo sizing, fuel system, and intended use requires a unique calibration approach.

GCC fuel stations supply 95 RON (equivalent to 91 US octane) as the premium grade. All YPG C63 calibrations are developed and validated on 95 RON fuel — no race fuel required for Stage 1 or Stage 2. Stage 3 and above may benefit from E85 blending or race fuel depending on turbo sizing and target power level.

Kuwait, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman all have consistent 95 RON supply. YPG calibrations account for GCC ambient temperatures (45°C+ summer peaks) with conservative intake air temperature compensation and knock-safe timing maps.
