Aston Martin ECU Tuning — Stage 1 & Stage 2 Guide for Vantage, DB11, DBS, DBX | GCC 2026
Aston Martin ECU Tuning by YPG Motorsport
YPG Motorsport delivers ECU tuning for the full modern Aston Martin range — from the AMG-sourced M177 twin-turbo V8 in the Vantage, DB11, DB12, and DBX to the bespoke 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 in the DB11 V12 and DBS Superleggera, plus the naturally aspirated V8 and V12 platforms in the classic V8 Vantage, DB9, V12 Vantage, and Rapide.
Every calibration is developed in-house at YPG Motorsport, building on over a decade of M177 development that includes our world-record-holding Mercedes-AMG C63 W205 programme. Our Aston Martin tunes are delivered via YPG Flash (remote OBD tuning — you keep your car) or YPG Bench (mail-in ECU service for platforms that require bench access).
Platforms We Tune
M177 4.0T Twin-Turbo V8
The AMG-sourced M177 powers the Vantage (2018+), DB11 V8, DB12, DBX, and DBX707. This is the same engine family YPG has tuned across hundreds of Mercedes-AMG applications — the C63, AMG GT, E63, and G63. Our Aston Martin M177 calibrations carry all of that development data forward.
- Stage 1: +60–80 HP / +80–100 Nm — optimised fuelling, ignition timing, boost pressure, and torque limiter recalibration. Safe on 95+ RON pump fuel. No hardware changes required.
- Stage 2: +100–140 HP / +120–160 Nm — built for cars with supporting hardware (downpipes, intake, intercooler). Full boost-by-gear mapping, raised rev limits where applicable, and per-cylinder fuelling correction.
5.2-Litre Twin-Turbo V12
The bespoke Aston Martin 5.2TT V12 powers the DB11 V12 and DBS Superleggera. YPG's V12 calibrations target boost pressure, ignition advance, and torque management across all twelve cylinders.
- Stage 1: +50–70 HP — conservative boost and timing optimisation on factory hardware.
- Stage 2: +90–120 HP — for cars with exhaust and intake modifications.
AJ37 4.3/4.7 Naturally Aspirated V8
The classic V8 Vantage (2005–2017) uses Aston Martin's own AJ37 naturally aspirated V8 in 4.3-litre and 4.7-litre variants. ECU tuning optimises the intake cam timing, fuelling maps, throttle response, and rev limit.
- Stage 1: +15–25 HP — refined throttle mapping and ignition advance for sharper response.
5.9-Litre Naturally Aspirated V12
The DB9, V12 Vantage, V12 Vantage S, and Rapide share Aston Martin's naturally aspirated 5.9-litre V12. Tuning targets ignition timing, variable valve timing optimisation, and rev limit extension where safe.
- Stage 1: +15–25 HP — optimised ignition and VVT calibration for improved top-end power and throttle response.
How It Works
YPG Flash — Remote ECU Tuning
Available for all M177 and 5.2TT V12 applications. You receive a pre-configured tuning device, connect it to your car's OBD port, and upload your stock file to us. We build your custom calibration and send it back — you flash it yourself, from anywhere in the world. The entire process is remote, fully reversible, and takes as little as 24 hours.
YPG Bench — Mail-In ECU Service
For naturally aspirated V8 and V12 platforms — or clients who prefer a hands-off approach — YPG Bench is our mail-in ECU tuning service. Ship your ECU to our facility in Kuwait, and we bench-tune it with full dyno validation before returning it.
Why YPG for Aston Martin?
- M177 expertise: The M177 in your Aston Martin Vantage or DB11 V8 is the same engine family YPG has developed across the AMG GT, C63, E63, and G63 — hundreds of units tuned worldwide.
- In-house calibration: Every tune is developed by YPG Motorsport engineers, not resold from a third-party supplier.
- Worldwide delivery: YPG Flash ships globally via FedEx International Priority. YPG Bench accepts ECU shipments from any country.
- Fully reversible: Every YPG Flash calibration can be reverted to stock with a single OBD flash.
- GCC-proven: Operating from Kuwait since 2011, with the region's first sub-10-second C63 quarter-mile record validated at Kuwait Motor Town.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which Aston Martin models can YPG tune?
We tune the Vantage (2018+), DB11 V8, DB11 V12, DB12, DBS Superleggera, DBX, DBX707, V8 Vantage (4.3/4.7), DB9, V12 Vantage, V12 Vantage S, and Rapide.
Is the M177 in an Aston Martin the same as in a Mercedes-AMG?
Yes. The 4.0T twin-turbo V8 in the Aston Martin Vantage, DB11 V8, DB12, and DBX is the AMG-sourced M177 — the same engine platform used in the AMG GT, C63, E63, and G63. YPG's M177 calibration data transfers directly.
Can I tune my Aston Martin remotely?
All M177 and 5.2TT V12 Aston Martins are supported via YPG Flash remote tuning. Naturally aspirated V8 and V12 models use YPG Bench (mail-in ECU service).
Will ECU tuning void my Aston Martin warranty?
ECU tuning may affect your manufacturer warranty. YPG Flash is fully reversible — you can return to the factory calibration before any dealer visit. Consult your dealer for specifics on your coverage.
How much power does a Stage 1 tune add to an Aston Martin Vantage?
A Stage 1 YPG Flash calibration on the Aston Martin Vantage (M177 4.0T V8) delivers approximately +60–80 HP and +80–100 Nm on 95+ RON pump fuel, with no hardware modifications required.
Do you ship to the GCC and Middle East?
Yes. YPG Motorsport is based in Kuwait and ships to every GCC country — Kuwait, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman — as well as worldwide via FedEx International Priority.
