The Build
The Mercedes-AMG GT R — the track-focused, rear-wheel-drive weapon from Affalterbach — taken to Stage 2 and tested where it belongs: Kuwait Motor Town. The M178 4.0L twin-turbo V8 already produces 577 HP from the factory. With the YPG Stage 2 calibration, catless downpipes, and upgraded blow-off valves, this GT R is putting down north of 750 HP with a completely different throttle response and exhaust note. Built to be driven hard, validated on track.

Track Testing — Kuwait Motor Town
Every YPG build is validated in real conditions. This GT R was tested at Kuwait Motor Town — the circuit we use for development and verification. Stage 2 on the M178 transforms mid-range pull and top-end delivery. The catless downpipes free up enough exhaust flow to support the aggressive ignition and boost mapping in the Stage 2 calibration, while the upgraded BOVs handle the increased charge pressure without compressor surge on lift-off through fast corners.
What's Next
Stage 2 is the sweet spot for a street-driven GT R — big power, full reliability, no internal engine work required. For owners pushing beyond 800 WHP, the next step is the Stage 3 Race Turbo Upgrade or the complete Stage 3 Package.
