What Is the Plus Option?

The Plus Option is YPG Motorsport's premium tuning tier — available as an upgrade to any Stage 1 or Stage 2 ECU tune. While our standard tunes deliver proven power gains using validated calibrations, the Plus option takes performance one step further by tailoring your tune to the exact conditions your car operates in.

Every environment is different. A car running in Kuwait's 50°C summer heat behaves differently from one in a European winter at 5°C. Altitude, humidity, fuel quality, and ambient temperature all affect how an engine breathes, how much boost it can safely run, and how aggressively timing can be advanced. The Plus option accounts for all of this.

How Does It Work?

The Plus option requires data logging from your vehicle after the initial tune is installed. Here's the process:

  1. Initial Tune Installation — Your car receives the standard Stage 1 or Stage 2 calibration through YPG Flash (remote OBD) or YPG Bench (mail-in ECU tuning).
  2. Data Logging Runs — You perform a series of street runs or track runs while logging key engine parameters: boost pressure, intake air temperature, exhaust gas temperatures, air-fuel ratios, knock activity, and more.
  3. Log Submission — You send us the data logs via email or WhatsApp.
  4. Custom Calibration — Our tuning team analyzes your logs and refines the calibration specifically for your car's operating conditions — your local climate, altitude, fuel grade, and driving environment.
  5. Revised Tune Delivery — You receive an updated tune file optimized for your exact conditions, flashed the same way as your original tune.

What Does the Plus Option Include?

  • Climate-Specific Calibration — Ignition timing, boost targets, and fueling maps adjusted for your country's ambient temperatures, humidity, and altitude.
  • Fuel Quality Optimization — Calibration refined for your local fuel grade — whether you're running 95 RON, 98 RON, or 100+ RON premium.
  • Race Fuel Mapping — The Plus option includes the ability to run a race fuel map. If you have access to race fuel (such as VP Racing C16, Sunoco GT260, or locally available 102–104 RON race blends), we calibrate a dedicated high-octane map that unlocks additional power safely.
  • Knock Margin Analysis — We review knock sensor data from your logs to ensure the engine is running with safe margins while extracting maximum performance.
  • Iterative Refinement — The Plus option is not a one-and-done revision. If needed, we work through multiple log-and-revise cycles until the calibration is fully dialed in for your setup.
