Why Akrapovic?
Most aftermarket exhaust companies optimize for one thing: loudness. Akrapovic optimizes for acoustic engineering — the sound is designed, not just amplified. Akrapovic's full titanium systems also weigh significantly less than OEM exhaust setups, which matters on a track day or a drag strip where every kilogram counts. Their systems are race-developed, with homologation across FIA, FIM, and MotoGP — the same engineering rigor applies to their street products.
Akrapovic System Types
Slip-On Line
The Slip-On replaces the rear muffler section only. It connects to the factory mid-pipe. Installation is straightforward — typically 30–60 minutes. Sound improvement is significant (particularly on bypass valve equipped cars where you can hear the difference in both sport and comfort modes). Weight reduction is modest. This is the right starting point for owners who want the Akrapovic sound without touching the catalytic converters or mid-pipe.
Evolution Line
The Evolution system replaces the complete exhaust from the manifold/turbo outlet back — headers, mid-pipe, and rear muffler. Full titanium construction. Maximum weight reduction and sound development. Requires more involved installation and may include catalytic converter removal on some platforms (catless or cat-equipped options available depending on the car). This is the flagship system and the one that makes the most measurable difference in power and sound.
Link Pipe Kit (OPF/GPF Delete)
For modern Porsche and BMW M models equipped with an OPF (Otto Particle Filter) or GPF (Gasoline Particle Filter), Akrapovic offers link pipe kits that delete the filter. The OPF/GPF is the biggest restriction on modern performance exhausts — removing it is the single highest-impact change you can make to the exhaust note on a post-2019 BMW M or Porsche. Power gains are secondary; the sound transformation is the primary reason GCC owners do this modification.
Akrapovic for Ferrari
Ferrari 488 GTB & 488 Pista
Akrapovic's slip-on for the 488 is one of their most popular exotic car products. The Ferrari F154 V8 biturbo already sounds remarkable through the factory exhaust — the Akrapovic system amplifies the mid-range character without making the car anti-social at low speeds. The Evolution system on the Pista takes the flat-plane crank V8 sound to an entirely different level. Combined with a YPG bench ECU tune and catless downpipes, this is a transformative Stage 2 build.
Akrapovic for Lamborghini
Lamborghini Aventador (LP700, SV, SVJ)
The Aventador V12 in stock form is already one of the great automotive sounds. The Akrapovic system for the Aventador is a full titanium system that removes the restrictive factory silencers and allows the 6.5L naturally aspirated V12 to breathe and sing properly at high RPM. The weight reduction is also meaningful — around 14 kg off the rear of the car. This is one of the most impactful non-power exhaust upgrades available.
Lamborghini Huracan (LP580, LP610, EVO)
Akrapovic's Huracan systems turn an already excellent sound into something truly special. The LP610-4 with an Akrapovic Evolution system at full throttle above 6,000 RPM is the kind of sound people stop their cars on the road to hear. Available in slip-on and full Evolution configurations.
Akrapovic for McLaren
McLaren 720S
The 720S M840T twin-turbo is one of the most potent engines in the supercar world, but the factory exhaust is deliberately quiet — Akrapovic changes that entirely. Their titanium system for the 720S adds presence to the V8 twin-turbo at part throttle and transforms the car's character under full acceleration. Weight reduction of approximately 5 kg over stock.
Akrapovic for BMW M
BMW M3 G80 / M4 G82 (S58)
Post-2021 M3/M4 models come with an OPF (Otto Particle Filter) that chokes the S58's exhaust note. Akrapovic's link pipe kit for GPF/OPF deletion is the first upgrade we recommend for G80/G82 owners — before spending on a full exhaust system. After GPF deletion + Akrapovic slip-on, the S58 sounds the way it should from the factory. The Evolution system is for owners who want maximum weight reduction and output — a 7–10 HP gain is measurable at the wheels.
BMW M5 F90 / X5M G05
Akrapovic Evolution systems for S63-based cars deliver significant weight reduction (12–18 kg) and a rich, V8 biturbo exhaust note that the factory system actively suppresses. Excellent companion to a Stage 2 YPG ECU tune.
Akrapovic for Mercedes-AMG
AMG GT / GT S / GT R (M178)
The AMG GT platform with an Akrapovic Evolution system is one of the great combinations in modern performance cars. The M178 V8 biturbo through titanium exits sounds brutally characterful at high RPM — nothing else sounds quite like it in the GCC. This is one of our most-requested configurations at YPG.
Akrapovic for Porsche
Porsche 992 Turbo S / GT3
Modern 992 models are factory-equipped with an OPF, which dramatically suppresses the flat-six sound. Akrapovic's OPF link pipe kit + slip-on combination transforms the 992 Turbo S's exhaust from near-silent to properly loud and characterful. The GT3 with Akrapovic is one of the highest-revving, best-sounding combinations in modern motorsport.
