The Mercedes-AMG GT R is already the sharpest tool in the M178 family — rear-wheel steering, active aero, wider track, and a factory tune pushing 577 HP from the hand-built 4.0L twin-turbo V8. Our Stage 2 build takes everything the GT R already does well and removes the limitations Mercedes left on the table.
This build was developed and validated on track at Kuwait Motor Town — YPG Motorsport's home circuit and testing facility. Every calibration revision was data-logged under full-load conditions in ambient temps exceeding 40°C, ensuring the tune delivers reliably in real GCC heat.

🔧 Catless Downpipes — M178
YPG Motorsport catless downpipes replace the factory catalytic converters with mandrel-bent, full-bore stainless steel pipework. The reduction in backpressure is critical for Stage 2 power targets — the M178's close-coupled turbos respond immediately to the freed exhaust flow.

🔧 Blow-Off Valve — M178
High-flow BOV replacing the factory recirculating valve. At Stage 2 boost levels, the stock valve struggles to vent quickly enough between shifts — the upgraded BOV ensures clean pressure release and eliminates compressor surge under aggressive driving.
